No to warehouses and traffic pollution at Cuerden

No to warehouses and traffic pollution at Cuerden
The Issue
Lancashire County Council has announced plans to build a large logistics hub - essentially lots of warehouses - at Cuerden in South Ribble. The site was to be the home of Ikea until the store pulled out last year. This development, of which locals have not been consulted, will lead to a massive increase in the number of high polluting, asthma/alzheimers triggering, diesel lorries. The roads of Lostock Hall and Bamber Bridge are already congested, especially A582 Lostock Lane, and that's before thousands of house have been built off Leyland Road (Old Gas Works and Bee Lane)
The number of warehouses on site needs to be limited, and limited in size and scale.
A large number of trees and greenery needs planting to absorb a large increase in Carbon.
The road network needs rethinking with the number of lorries limited.
Local residents to be consulted every step of the way.
We love where we live. I want a healthy future for my grandchildren. This development puts them at greater risk of developing asthma and other serious illness.
