Repave Babington Road in Streatham

Repave Babington Road in Streatham
Why this petition matters

The pavement on Babington Road in Streatham SW16 is in a shocking state and urgently needs complete repair. Almost every section is breaking up, with holes and trip hazards which are a danger to older and disabled residents and an obstacle to anyone with a wheelchair or pushing a pram or buggy.
Local councillors have asked repeatedly over the last few years that the street be repaved but it has not been prioritised by Lambeth council. It is only a matter of time before someone has a serious accident.
The road is used by many people as a route to Streatham High Road and Streatham Common station, as well as those using the youth centre (Streatham Youth and Community Trust) on Conyers Road.
Green local councillors have started this petition at the request of residents who want the street to be urgently repaved as part of the council's Highways Improvement Programme, and recognise that well maintained streets are important to encourage walking in the local area.
