The Low Traffic Neighbourhood in Streatham Hill's ABCD roads is making our street lovely and quiet.  This is good. 

However residents now have to drive further and sit in more traffic to go to the places we need to reach.  This is bad.  It adds congestion, pollution and risks more accidents. 

With the new Controlled Parking (CPZ) being introduced in the area, it is easily possible to respect residents' rights and avoid residents making longer journeys to get to where we need to be, whilst maintaining the quiet streets.   

Councillor Holland has advised me that it is not just about preventing a rat run, but also about reducing traffic generally so they are not currently considering using the number plate recognition system to allow residents access.

Tooting's implementations is being reviewed following residents objections, so if we work together we can hope that things will change so everyone is respected in Streatham Hill.
