Reinstate the Brockwell Park Dog Show

The Issue

The Brockwell Park Dog Show is (was???) a free, fun, and inclusive community event, with a "scruffs not crufts" vibe, promoting responsible dog ownership. It was free to watch, enjoyed by young and old alike, and anyone could enter their dog for a small fee of £1. The event was supported by local businesses, with /profits/ donated to Brockwell Park and the Blue Cross animal charity.

This year, without warning, it has been cancelled by Lambeth.

Brockwellparkcommunitypartners.org.uk state: "We regret to say that the 2015 Brockwell Dog Show has been cancelled by Lambeth Officers, citing a rival commercial event"

That rival commercial event is Battersea Dogs and Cat's homes Muddy Dog assault course, that costs £32 for sporty dog owners to enter with their dog, with a £100 fund raising target. Whilst I think MuddyDog will generate profit for a worthy cause, its another example of our community eventsbeing sold off by Lambeth.

Held the week before the popular Lambeth Country show, the Dog show was also a kind of "thank you" for the disruption this event causes for about a fortnight to dog walkers that use the park every day.

The question is WHY STOP A SUCCESSFUL, LOW IMPACT COMMUNITY EVENT THAT BENEFITS SOCIETY? There is simply no need to cancel the dog show, and it will not impact Muddy Dog in any way.
