The Lambeth Library consultation ends on Friday at 11pm. You have all made such a strong case for our library and demonstrated how lucky we are to live in an area with such exceptional community spirit. More than 1200 in less than four days is a huge achievement. Councils think we are on the edge of their boroughs. In reality they are to the edges of Crystal Palace. Boundaries don't mean much to us but we know where we belong and what belongs to us. We care for this place and we care for each other. The visionaries that jointly founded our library 115 years ago knew that. We know that. Now we have to make the politicians understand that. Please if you can give a final big push to the petition through Facebook and Twitter and get more people to sign we would be so grateful. We can't promise we can make the politicians listen but we can promise if they don't show common sense and do the right thing they will be held to account by history and their electorate. Together the power of five is always greater than one.
