Hi, everyone! Thank you so much again for all of your support of the petition. As of now, we are just reaching 3,700 signatures. The outreach of community support is very much appreciated, and really displays how Lakewood, as a community, always comes together.
I wanted to let everyone know that an engineer from the company which the City of Lakewood contracts with was at the intersection of Bloomfield Avenue and Lemming Street yesterday, setting up car-counting devices on the street, as well as radar-like cameras to detect the speed of cars on Bloomfield as part of Lakewood's city-wide traffic study.
While talking with Safety Director Yordt, he told me that the data and findings of this traffic study will determine what, if anything, the City of Lakewood will do to improve safety at this intersection.
There is no official length or end date of the traffic study, but with the help and support of the community continuously calling on the City Council and Public Safety Department to combat the posing dangers here, the problem at hand can no longer be ignored, and lives can be saved!
Thank you again, everyone!
