The discharge of private fireworks in Lake Stevens creates danger (especially in progressively dry and hot summer conditions); litter; and disturbance to residents, pets and wildlife, etc. It is time to end the use of private fireworks within the city limits of Lake Stevens. I have started this petition because life in Lake Stevens during this holiday has become miserable. This year in particular is especially concerning due to weather conditions greatly increasing fire risk. Also, anxiety in my household becomes overwhelming not only for my pets, but for my human family members as well during this time period. Please join me in restoring safety and peace in our corner of Washington during this holiday. Lake Stevens should not resemble a "war zone" on the day marking our great nation's birth.
