Update to McKinley Condo 3 Proposal: Developer files suit
Oct 18, 2021

McKinley Condo 3 Current Stats:

• 1 Historic Preservation Commissioner was removed by Mayor Pandaleon last Thursday. Her term was up in May of 2022. This Commissioner made the motion to reject Condo 3, and cited the statutory 17 standards required in an historic district;
• 5 fellow Historic Preservation Commissioners agreed and voted to reject it 6-1.
• 2 Historic Preservation Commissioners have resigned since July;
• 2 separate Commissions, Plan & Historic Preservation, have voted this building down 5 times. City Council upheld the Historic Preservation decision, so in total this has been voted down 6 times;
• 2 developers, both Lake Forest residents, have now sued the 19 residents who spoke at the open HPC and City Council meetings;
• $1,000,000 is the base amount the developers are demanding from the City in this suit;
• 2 of the nearest Westminster neighbors have moved in the last 18 months because of the ongoing stress and potential negative financial impact to their homes of Condo 3.

Share this with friends, spread the word. The City must defend it’s commissions, it’s process, and it’s residents.
