Sign this petition please! Lake County has a local moratorium (ban) on Medical Marijuana Dispensaries and it needs to end this year! Medical card holders have to travel upwards of 60 miles just to get their medication!

I work in healthcare, and I can personally tell you that there's a large population of Lake County residents that have their medical cannabis cards --since its was legalized for medical use in the Sunshine state. The residents have found countless benefits from medical marijuana. They've found that the plant ails pain and body aches, calms symptoms of anxiety and PTSD,  increases the appetite, helps with depression and boosts creativity and activity, depending on the strain and processing of the plant.

Please sign this petition because as it stands, the patients I listed above have to travel upwards of 60 miles and wait in long lines to get their medication.

I met a patient last year and my heart went out to him on so many levels. He was in a terrifying work accident where he was pulled into a heavy-duty metal baler and was severely maimed. Not only did he suffer extensive injuries but since he didn't get knocked out, he was awake for the whole excruciating experience and has developed PTSD.  He will endure a long life of debilitating pain, crippling anxiety, and depression. He told me he will no doubt be getting his medical cannabis card when he can.  I can't imagine how hard it's going to be for him to even be able to get the medication he needs if Lake County doesn't lift this oppressive ban immediately!
