Blue Marmot is a subsidiary of EDP Renováveis, S.A., a large multinational corporation based in Spain. They have been working since 2015 to install a 60MW Utility Scale Solar Park in Lakeview, Oregon. This project would involve the destruction of nearly 2000 acres of pristine high desert agricultural land, miles of newly constructed transmission lines, and large substations built near residential homes. This does not include other economic impacts, such as depreciation of home values, increase of rent prices during construction, and other local supply issues, while 300 non-local, temporary construction workers are in Lakeview.

Blue Marmot claims that their project will provide stable revenue for Lake County families. However, when looking deeper into the property ownership of Blue Marmot's build sites, it becomes evident who will actually benefit: Gary Deniz(~160 Acres), Robert Reish (~160 Acres), James & Perry Parmelee(~300 Acres), Duravoo LLC (~1400 Acres). Three of these people are Lake County residents, but they only account for 30% of Blue Marmot's total leased land. The remaining 60% is owned by Duravoo LLC, a company based out of Wapiti, Wyoming, who will be collecting a paycheck for the solar generated on their land.

While Blue Marmot attempts to create the façade of being community-focused, their actions speak louder than words. In over 5 years of working on this project, they have contributed less than $10,000 and have yet to attended any local community or charity events. All the while, Blue Marmot plans to profit millions by selling electricity to PacifiCorp and PGE; who in turn will deliver it to other larger Oregon and California cities.

“PGE respectfully requests that the Commission deny Blue Marmot's Motion to Compel, prohibit Blue Marmot from issuing additional data requests until after PGE files its Response Testimony, and require PGE to respond only to the first 101 data requests served by Blue Marmot” Page 15

“Blue Marmot continues to produce additional data requests, serving its 7th set on September 14, and has represented that it may serve additional requests in the future.” Page 3

“Blue Marmot’s suggestion that PGE has substantially greater resources than Blue Marmot rings hollow. Blue Marmot’s parent company EDPR—in whose name all of the data requests have been served—is a multi-national company, whose revenue in the first half of this year was € 988 million.” Page 9

Please consider signing this petition and help bring these issues (and many more) to the Lake County Solar Committee and Lake County Board of Commissioners attention. We need their help and cooperation to stop this large corporation from causing irreversible damage to our beautiful valley and wildlife.
