Lagos State CP, TRANSFER DPO Badagry Police station, Peter Gbesu out of Badagry Division

The Issue

DPO Peter Gbesu must be deployed out of Badagry Division of Lagos state.

Aside deploying policemen under his watch to exhort and collect bribe from motorists and helpless Nigerians especially along the international highway, thereby causing diplomatic embarrassments to the federal republic of Nigeria and her citizens, the incumbent Divisional Police Officer of Badagry Police station, Mr. Peter Gbesu, has constituted himself into a stumbling block for the development of Badagry division and Nigeria at large such that his continued tenure as the DPO now threatens the freedom and other fundamental human rights of the people of Nigerians resident in Badagry division of Lagos to demand good governance particularly the urgent for the federal government to fix the dilapidated Lagos-Badagry express road.

DPO Peter Gbesu personally led the policemen from Badagry Police station to disrupt, brutalized, arrest and detain three of the #FixLagosBadagryExpressRoad protesters who embarked on a nonviolent and peaceful procession from Mowo junction to Aradagun bus-stop along the bad expressway at the PANTI PRISON of the State Criminal Investigations Department, Yaba.

The actions of DPO Peter Gbesu is uncivil, barbaric and undemocratic and a disgrace to the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state.

To further ensure the masses of Badagry live in perpetually fear and for their opinions suppressed eternally, DPO Peter Gbesu also pressed trumped-up charges (four counts) against these Badagry youths and arraigned them for peacefully protesting, at Chief Magistrate court in Yaba, Lagos.

The actions of Mr. Peter Gbesu is a clear violation of laws he was employed by the federal government of Nigeria to uphold and enforce. Thus, tantamount to a calculated attempt suppress the voices of Nigerians in Badagry division, which is inimical to the letters and spirit of the Nigerian Constitution.

As Nigerian youths record victory in the #EndSars campaign with the dissolution of #FSAR by the IGP, we implore that you kindly join millions of Nigerian youths to rid all police stations in Nigeria of the bad eggs within the Nigeria Police Force.

Kindly sign this to demand that Lagos State CP, TRANSFER DPO Badagry Police station, Peter Gbesu out of Badagry Division
