The Lafayette Consolidated Government has passed the resolution to continue health coverage for survivors of police and firefighters killed in the line of duty.
The vote passed unanimously at the city-parish council meeting Tuesday night. Councilman Kenneth Boudreaux says that the resolution allows for families of officers and firefighters killed in the line of duty to have continued coverage under LCG's health insurance benefits at the same rate.
Coverage would include the Middlebrook family as the resolution is retroactive.
