Make It Illegal for Concert/Event Tickets to be resold at more than double Face value.

After the recent mad rush of both the pre-sale and general sale of Ed Sheeran tickets me and alot of people agree that its time something was done about the blatant theft from us as genuine fans. We attempted to get tickets for the 02 Arena on all available dates. Within 30 seconds there was nothing and we waited on Ticketmaster for 45 minuets afterwards still in the waiting room with no indcation that they were sold out from ticketmaster. Even though people were already posting on twitter ect that they were sold out we hoped that there would be some left. Me and my friends were extremely disappointed that we were unable to get tickets. We were even more angry when we went on GetMeIn! Within 2 minuets of the sale starting and tickets were already being listed for as much as £650 per ticket with no sign of the actual face value price. The original price for the tickets was only £51 for the highest seats and £81 for the rest ( including Booking Fees). I also noticed that when you search for multiple tickets it comes up showing a price which seems as if it is for all of them. However when you get to the checkout you find out that that price has doubled or tripled because that £440 original price was per ticket not including booking fees.
For example Charlotte Duckworth, 21, thought she was paying £440 for three tickets for the singer’s Manchester arena concert, on ticketing site Viagogo. But she ended up being charged around £291 PER TICKET, plus a massive £280 booking fee, £22 delivery fee and £65 in vat. When she got the final confirmation Charlotte realised she had been charged a grand total of £1,329.41.Now she says she may have to move in to her parents’ house and sell her car to pay off her credit card debt.
I Think it is disgusting that these websites such as GetMeIn and StubHub and Viagogo allow anyone to sell tickets to genuine fans for these ridiculous prices especially within 10 minuets of them going on sale!
Also the official Vendor that Ed Sheeran has asked all of his fans to use to buy and resale tickets has no tickets on it at all! Not a Single one. He has specifically spoken out and asked fans not to buy off of any other sites but what choice do they have if they want to see their Idol.
And I its not just Ed Sheeran, When Elton John tickets went on sale at the end of 2015 with a top price of £90, minutes later the same tickets appeared on secondary ticket websites priced at £500.
These websites need to be looked into and put a stop to. There should be rules and regulations that users of these sites have to follow when selling tickets and none of them should be allowing the touting of tickets and ripping off of their customers.
I ask you please sign this petition so we can get it looked at and discussed as I believe we are all being ripped off not just by the price but by the fact that because of secondary selling sites allowing people to purchase and sell tickets for extortionate prices with no cap This takes away thousands of tickets from us genuine fans.
