Taiwan Is Not Chinese Taipei: Sankei Shimbun & Liberty Times Cover Asian Games Press Conference

On September 19, ahead of the opening ceremony of the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games, Taiwanese and Japanese organizations held a press conference in Nagoya calling for Taiwan to be allowed to compete at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics as “Taiwan” rather than “Chinese Taipei.” The press conference was covered by Japan’s Sankei Shimbun and Taiwan’s Liberty Times.
