As a resident in Los Angeles area county since 2022, I have enjoyed countless times riding LA Metro what really bothers me is LA Metro is rarely often up to date with their purchasing buses for LA County due to poor decision making of purchasing buses which automatically leads LA Metro purchasing buses previously from bus manufacturers more than twice since 2014. The latest that LA Metro was very up to date doing their make over was in 2014 which was about a decade ago. We need buses that attracts LA County residents and tourists with a different bus look. A purchaser we can rely on making decisions on biddings and contracts. We can’t rely on the same old bus manufacturers for every decade since. NABI has closed it doors for due Bankruptcy and since then now LA Metro would buy buses from NewFlyer, ENC, BYD & previously NABI which was defunct and now owned by NewFlyer since June 21, 2013. A year after LA Metro had their huge makeover with purchasing buses which were electrics in 2014 that were bought from BYD numbered 1001-1005 which again failed resulting early retirement on buses with poor specifications not met with LA Metro Safety inspection certification of operating a commercial vehicle in California. In 2020 LA Metro mentioned that they will buy a new set of five electric buses and again had poor decision making which LA Metro buying buses from previous bus manufacturers and one of them was BYD which were numbered from 10000-10004 and yet the currently 2023 all five should be running by and yet three are currently running as of 2023 and two are still either being inspected or out of service due to possibly failure of passing certification of vehicle inspection.

LA Metro needs a change now.
