More frequent LA Metro buses and trains

More frequent LA Metro buses and trains
The Issue
Dear LA Metro:
Los Angeles is notorious for being a car-only city. In fact, however, it is more densely populated than even New York City, which has much better transit options. As a commuter in LA, Metro helps all of us, whether car-owners or not.
To make LA's metro system functional, however, Metro must invest in greater bus frequencies. Where feeder routes to Metro Rail are concerned, rush hour buses are often at capacity, and schedules are not suitably coordinated for easy transfers. The evening commute is particularly poorly coordinated, with many routes offering only 2 or 3 trips per hour between 430pm and 7pm. For Metro to replace car usage for many commuters, trips need to be more frequent on the main street's bus lines.
In addition, it is important to reduce headways on the rails. During rush hour, the popular red line metro runs only every 10-12 minutes! Angelenos need transit options that help ease congestion and provide options for those who do not, or can not, drive themselves. To do so, great capital investments need to be prioritized in improving the existing system and not merely developing more tracks, routes, and stations.
Thank you for your consideration. We are eager to see your proposed budget for fiscal 2017, and urge you to prioritize service improvements immediately.
Sincerely,
