La Jolla Shores Dog Beach

As a frequent local to La Jolla Shores Shores, I have always wished that I could take my dog off leash in the generally secluded area of the beach near Scripps Pier. Most La Jollans, like me, need to drive 30 minutes down to Fiesta Island or 20 minutes north to the Dog Beach near Solana Beach. I believe a dog beach in La Jolla is an essential addition to the community where both dogs and humans can enjoy themselves. I am organizing this petition to fix the nagging problem for all dog owners in La Jolla. With your support the City of San Diego will approve this historic addition to La Jolla's culture.

Details

-The dog beach is secluded to North of Ellen Browning Scripps Memorial Pier and South of Blacks Beach

-Dogs must be leashed June 16th through Labor Day

-Dogs able to run under voice control of owner from the day after Labor Day through June 15th

-Owners must pick up after dogs at all times
