Though Sheriff candidate Jim McDonnell claims no longer to be affiliated with a political party, McDonnell has sealed his record. McDonnell told the LA Times he was a registered Republican for many years. Did McDonnell change his party affiliation to fit his political aspirations? The public deserves to know the Sherriff’s ideology.

Today, Citizen PAC demanded to see Sheriff Jim McDonnell’s voting record.

Last year, Sheriff McDonnell was sued by community organizations because of his communications and coordination with President Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions. He is a mouthpiece for President Trump’s and ICE’s policies on immigration. He was the leading opponent to California’s historic SB-54 and continues to promote drug war and mass incarceration policies.

Voters deserve to know. Sheriff McDonnell, are you still a registered Republican?
