(Hi! I noticed some of you have been donating to the Change.org website, but in order to make change- donate to Pasadena Humane Society's website the link is down below

Since 2016, Los Angeles County has had a contract with the Pasadena Humane Society that allows them to provide sheltering services and animal control to Altadena, La Crescenta, Montrose, and unincorporated Pasadena. Now the County is trying to terminate this contract. If this happens, the animals in those areas will end up at Baldwin Park, an LA County shelter that is vastly different from Pasadena Humane Society. LA County shelters do not have strong volunteer programs, so the animals don't get a lot of (if any) exercise or attention. County shelters are not well funded, and they euthanize animals much more often that PHS. The Pasadena Humane Society is a donor-supported, no kill shelter that provides animal care to Pasadena and the greater Los Angeles Area. The contract to still provide PHS funds has been renewed for on year, sot hat gives us room to start helping now! PHS has a 91% "live release rate". What this statistic shows is that PHS euthanizes only when animals have very serious, non curable health conditions or behavioral issues. We want our lost and homeless animals in Altadena, La Crescenta, Montrose, and unincorporated Pasadena to stay in Pasadena and not go to County!

FEW WAYS TO HELP:

1. PHS currently has the opportunity to unlock a $20,000 gift from the Elizabeth M. Falk Foundation. In order to unlock such a beneficial gift, PHS needs 100 more monthly donors. In order to become a monthly donor, go to PHS's Monthly Giving Program at https://give.pasadenahumane.org/give/264298/#!/donation/checkout

2. Another way to help fix this problem is by letting the Los Angeles Board of Supervisors hear your compassion. A live board meeting will be happening on July 7th at 9:30 AM. A way you can let them hear your voice is by calling (877) 226-8196 & by using the participant's code 6825370. Another way to let these Board of Supervisors hear your voice is by submitting public comments to their online website PublicComment.bos.lacounty.gov.

3. A third way to help is by contacting 5th District Supervisor Kathryn Barger. Tell her why Pasadena Humane Society NEEDS to NOT stop providing sheltering services and animal control. Her office can be reached at 213.974.5555 or you contact her by email at Kathryn@bos.lacounty.gov.

4. DONATE directly to Pasadena Humane Society's website and not Change.org.
