Coyote killing contests are nothing but a blood sport where hunters go out and kill as many coyotes as possible for prizes and bragging rights. There are categories for largest coyote, smallest coyote (including pups), and for the MOST coyotes. Many hunters say this is a form of conservation, and population control. But over a dozen studies have shown that killing mass amounts of coyotes can actually lead to a even larger population increase the following year. These studies rule out the "conservation" blanket these hunters hide behind. The true reason is to satisfy their own bloodlust. California has already BANNED these blood sports from their state. They have figured out that this is not a effective method of population control and found it to be nothing but a repulsive blood stain upon their communities. It's time to end these barbaric practices. END THE KILLING CONTESTS IN ILLINOIS.
