Sure, there are black screenwriters. Give us some black actors on the screen and we won't even care about the white puppeteers who're making them talk for us. It's time we stop letting others profit from our misfortune. Time we stop letting others tell our stories for their amusement. Not actually what happened so we'll see how fans reactions to a fake Hollywood storyline goes. Afeni fired back with a $10 million cross-complaint saying that Morgan Creek, topper James Robinson and others tried to strong-arm a deal for Tupac movie rights, then sabotaged the project when Amaru Entertainment attempted to set it up elsewhere. "Instead of negotiating in good faith with (Amaru), they sought to obtain the rights by concocting a non-existent 'agreement' and engaging in heavy-handed threats, coercion and intimidation to interfere with and ultimately destroy the film project," Amaru says. What's more, just days after the Biggie Smalls biopic "Notorious" grossed more than $20 million in it's opening weekend, Morgan Creek execs allegedly arranged a conference call with an Amaru attorney to "accept" the counter-offer and began telling other studios and producers that Morgan Creek owned rights to the project. "This was a sleazy and illegal ploy to coerce (Amaru) into a deal," says the cross-complaint, which demands millions in damages for derailing talks with potential studios and producers. Also named in the cross-complaint are Morgan Creek legal executive Don Hardison and consultant LT Hutton. If you recall at the end of 2015 Morgan Creek rushed in to production on the biopic, why? Because the Tupac music rights would be reverted back to Afeni Shakur if the biopic was not in production by the end of 2015, meaning they would have no Tupac music to use in the biopic. ------------------------------------------- Support the Biopic if you want, but the fact is Afeni DIDN'T. Let's hope Afeni's lawyers can accomplish the task of having her name removed from anything to do with the Biopic, after all that's what Afeni wanted.
