L'oreal had previously been animal testing free from the 80's onwards, but now as they want to expand into the chinese market they have recently took up the practice. It is Chinese law that cosmetic products wishing to be sold in their country go through animal testing. Therefore L'oreal have put their morals previously established aside and, looking for more profit, have taken up animal testing.  L'oreal is an umbrella company, owning brands such as Maybelline.
Why should animals be subjected to chemical testing for an unessessary product?
Once again, corporate greed takes over.
