Appearing via a pre-taped video deposition Thursday, Kate James told the court she was hired by Heard in 2012 as her personal assistant and worked with her until 2015.
One of her jobs was to get two copies of magazines that Heard appeared in and store them in the garage because she didn't want Depp to see them. One time Heard 'got very angry' because they were lying around.
'She went absolutely ballistic. Screaming, yelling, abuse. (It was a) blind rage.'
James recalled how Heard would 'scream over the phone' at her and subjected her to 'barrages of abusive text messages day and night.
When James was switching from part time to full time work she was negotiating her salary with Heard, who lost her cool.
James said: 'She leapt up out of her chair, put her face four inches from my face, telling me how dare I ask the salary I was asking for. She felt that gave her the right to spit in my face', adding that the $50,000 she asked for was half her usual salary.
A handyman who witnessed the whole thing was 'mortified'
According to James, Heard was mean to her sister Whitney and treated her 'like a dog you kick.'
Heard's own mother was 'terrified' of her because she was abusive to her too, James claimed
When Heard was intoxicated she 'became more and more belligerent and abusive', James said.
James claimed that Heard's insecurities about her relationship were because she 'didn't like to be away from Johnny's physical presence.'
About her impression of Depp, James said he was 'peaceful, almost shy, very quiet' and called him a 'total Southern gentleman.
The court heard about the day in May 2016 when Heard arrived in Los Angeles having flown from Boston where he was supposedly abusive and drunk towards her.
James claimed that Heard went straight to the Chateau Marmont hotel to meet up with friends.
The atmosphere was 'a little conspiratorial', adding that it was 'like a strategy meeting, combined with a pool party.'
She went back to her apartment. Then Heard wanted her to pack her bags at 10pm on Sunday night.

Dr. Laurel Anderson, a marriage counselor who worked with the former spouses for a total of 21 sessions beginning in October 2015, gave revealing video testimony.
Miss Heard reported that it was a point of pride to her, if she felt disrespected to initiate a fight.
Her father had beaten her, she was not going to end.
'If he was going to leave she would strike him to keep him there. She would rather be in a fight than have him leave.'
Asked if it was her assessment that while Depp said he wasn't violent with any of his other partners, there was violence from him towards Heard, she said yes.
In her notes she said that one time one of the parties 'walked out', but she was not clear who.
'I thought he (Depp) was having difficulty in the sessions and I think it was something about the process between the two of them.'
Asked what difficulty, she said: 'Having a voice. Miss Heard had a jackhammer style of talking. She was very amped up. He had trouble talking at a similar pace. He was cut off a lot.
'I'm guessing this is what it was. This is how he didn't have a voice. He couldn't talk with her rapid-fire way of conversation so he was really overwhelmed.'
Heard 'talked over' Depp and Dr. Anderson had to tell her that a conversation was 'impossible' if she was 'barraging' the conversation.
She recalled seeing photos of Heard with a bruised face with bruising around her eyes, though she never witnessed the abuse herself.
Dr. Anderson told the court: 'This is her reporting physical abuse, so when she said he hits her, an open hand slap, she says she hits back and now she starts it and sometimes hits first.
According to Dr. Anderson's notes, Heard 'eventually initiated the hitting herself' and talked about 'trying to initiate a fight one night by slapping him,' referring to Depp.
Heard went to see Dr. Anderson in person to show her the bruises on her face she claims were inflicted by Depp during their last fight in May 2016.
