🚨 **Urgent Call to Action for Animal Welfare in San Bernardino County!** 🚨
I’m deeply concerned about the recent decision made by the San Bernardino County Board Supervisor, Don Rowe, to close animal control shelters to all cats and to empty their facilities, even though there is room available to take them in. This decision could lead to a catastrophic explosion in the number of cats living on our streets, which poses serious risks not only to the animals but also to our community.
With winter fast approaching and snow on the way, countless cats will be left to fend for themselves in freezing temperatures, which could lead to unnecessary suffering and death. Additionally, as these cats roam the streets, we risk increased accidents as drivers swerve to avoid them, potentially leading to serious injuries or fatalities for both the animals and people.
It’s crucial to remember that as taxpayers, we fund the housing of our domesticated animals when they are lost. The legality of these measures is currently under investigation, as they seem to be inhumane and contrary to the values we hold for animal welfare in California.
I urge everyone to reach out to George Harding, the Director of Animal Control for San Bernardino County at +1 (800) 472-5609, and to Don Rowe's at (909) 387-4855 office to encourage them to re-admit cats to the Big Bear Animal Shelter. Let’s advocate for the safety of our community and the well-being of these vulnerable animals before it’s too late!
📞 Please call Don Rowe's office at (909) 387-4855 and express your concerns!
Together, we can make a difference! 🐾❤️
