I received this plea for help. I'm reaching out to anyone who can do something about this. Can you? Our Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has permitted animal pounds to continue to abuse our abandoned animals during this pandemic. The email received below is a report of what is happening at Southeast Area Animal Control Authority (SEAACA). The animal pound is located in Los Angeles County, California. Janice Hahn, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisor for the City of Downey, is in charge of this animal pound and continues to turn her back on our animals and avoid my phone calls and messages. I have redacted parts of the letter that was sent to me today in efforts to hide the identity of the sender. We must not re-elect city officials allowing these abuses to continue. Please read below and if you are in any position to help the animals of Southeast Area Animal Control Authority (SEAACA), we need your help to save them RIGHT NOW. If you live in a community that Southeast Area Animal Control Authority (SEAACA) provides service to, please consider the email below before taking any animal to that pound..(see letter below)

Hi Ted:

Southeast Area Animal Control Authority (SEAACA) shut down again to the public. They had just opened to the public from 1 to 3 pm W to F.  All this new Managed Intake is killing the animals. They aren't letting the public come in freely to save the animals. Now shelters can be viewed as animal hoarders. They've invited disease into their facilities. Everyone (even staff) is admitting their new approach has failed but upper level management won't make the necessary changes to save the lives of the animals. Shelter staff is secretly reaching out to rescues admitting the failures of the system expecting the Animals Rescues to quieting solve the new problems they've created because no one is brave enough to stand up to their management.

Not only that but SEAACA's dogs are really sick. I should not be telling you this and will deny it if ever confronted.  SEAACA has been sending out the Euthanization lists since the beginning of December.  There were over 60 dogs that they gave only a few days to rescue.

Unfortunately, it has cost the rescues a lot of money because these dogs have been so sick.  Some have died anyway. (Redacted)

After that SEAACA has had a rash of dogs and it hasn't stopped since.  Now rescues don't know what to do.  Almost every dog coming out of there is sick and costing lots of money. We need help. We need the public's help to save as many dogs and cats as possible. We need the public to stop taking animals to SEAACA.

(Redacted) Instead SEAACA retaliated with another bigger list of deadline dogs and cats.

SEAACA killed... (Redacted) bills are out of site like in the tens of thousands. What can we do? Why isn't Los Angeles County doing anything to help? Isn't Janice Hahn responsible for the businesses in Downey? You told me she hasn't done anything to help the animals since the pandemic. I can see now exactly what you mean.

(Redacted)

I see your petition has over 7000 signatures. They need to know don't you think?
