For 3 days he suffered with NO medical help at the South LA Pound...then they killed him. The horror stories never end at the LA City Pounds. (PLEASE SHARE for the animals) @bestfriendsanimalsociety NKLA why didn’t you help him?

If you saw your dog with labored breathing, would you lock him in a concrete kennel without medical help for 3 days? LA CITY has 6 vets and 6 medical teams...paid for, by you. The Chief Vet, Jeremy Pruppas, works AT this pound...

Yet, no one saw him for 3 days. By then, his lungs filled with fluid and they decided to kill him.

Was he irremediably suffering? Not according to an outside vet who saw his records. But they killed Jefferson anyway (he was deemed healthy both times he entered the Pound).

Did they do their pathetic “email blast” to alert their small circle of rescues to ask for help?
No.

Did they alert the public to ask for help?
No. (They never do, check out their FB page, they have no posts on animals about to be killed and fake followers)

Did they put out a Good Sam call?
No.

Did they use any of the medical donations to send him to a real vet?
No.

As the employees say, “Just another day at South LA.”
This is not unusual, well, usually they cover it up a little better, but it’s pretty typical. While volunteering there for 3 years every weekend, I saw a lot of things that would put anyone from the public in jail.

Yet, for some reason Mayor Eric Garcetti, Councilmember Paul Koretz
(Chair of Animal Welfare), the rest of the Councilmembers like Councilmember Bob Blumenfield, and the ‘not even sure why they exist’ Animal Commission, let General Manager of LA City Animal Pounds get away with...(just to name a few) breaking laws, lying about reaching “no-kill” when in fact she kills healthy animals ALL THE TIME, misappropriates millions in donations, closed 2 much needed pounds (West Valley & North Central) due to “staffing concerns,” then gave employee friends raises and promotions during COVID, and has serviced 24,000 FEWER animals then last year, while making $325k a year. (After 10yrs of this, she’s now a millionaire, thanks to LA City taxpayers.)

And let’s not forget her Smear Campaigns against all Whistleblowers - and let’s not forget that Councilmember Koretz’s staff joins in and helps her smear all employees, volunteers, and rescues, who shine a light on her illegal activity and atrocities at the pounds.

Did you know that the Councilmembers (pushed by Koretz) and the Mayor gave $1.54 million in animal donations to a tech company called The Glue Inc.

Koretz said, “You need to spend money to make money, so they will use $500k in donations to make $800k in donations.” (During an economic crisis?)

Just re-read that again, and let it sink in, and know the company has NO track record of fundraising. (Look them up)

CALL TO ACTION
Animal Services needs to be investigated by the CA DA’s office, CA Auditor’s Office, and investigated for misappropriation of donated funds...to start. It’s clear LA City Councilmembers and Mayor Garcetti could care less about the animals. And please don’t vote for Koretz for Controller.

Please, for the homeless animals, contact your CA state representatives and ask them for an immediate investigation into
LA ANIMAL SERVICES.
