Dear Friends, The Swedish authorities have withdrawn the proposal to ban climbing in the nature preserve Kullaberg, for now. We have received an e-mail saying (in Swedish): Mot bakgrund av att det kom in mycket synpunkter på de föreslagna ordningsföreskrifterna och att det finns oklarheter kring bland annat friluftslivets inverkan på naturvärdena, det föreslagna verksamhetsrådets roll och länsstyrelsens möjlighet att anvisa områden för friluftsaktiviteter skjuts frågan om ordningsföreskrifter och verksamhetsråd på framtiden för utredning. Arbetet med att genomföra en sammanslagning av de tre naturreservaten får därför anstå till ett senare tillfälle. The reactions and complications was simply too big, and they will now go back to the drawing board. The petition reached 7755 signatures, and when we had a meeting with the authorities, we handed over a pile of papers with all the signatures printed, with great effect!
