OH DEER! Crossing Signs on Happy Valley Rd to protect resident Deer families

The Issue

The area of Happy Valley Road between Winter Rd and Neild Rd has a consistent wildlife crossing and at this point there are zero signs up to tell motorists to slow down when entering the s-curves.

There are two resident deer families, including fawns who cross at this specific point on the road to make their way to the creek or to the orchards to drink and feed.

We need to take steps to protect our wildlife in the area, especially with all development on Happy Valley and Latoria Rd. They are being scared onto the roads and killed.

Just this Spring/Summer four of our resident deer have been hit on those corners including two fawns.

We have a deer problem, and it's that they are being Killed by cars!

I've asked for help from Langford and Metchosin Counsil Members with no help so far.  I will have temporary signs up from WIldArc however someone has been taking them down in the night.

The more people to sign this, the more pressure to get those official signs up. It's not much to ask.  It's our fault they're being run into the road to their death and out of their homes.

Please sign.
