Ever since they gave us laptops, they took away our snow day. Whenever there is bad weather we have a "virtual learning day" instead if a snow day. One of the biggest parts of going to school in Wisconsin is staring at the bottom of your tv screen, hoping to see your school scroll past. Without these magical breaks in winter, everything feels so plain. It's like the magic died. No more playing outside in the fresh snow with all your friends on the block, no more sledding all day long with the promise of hot chocolate when you get home, and no more excitement. I'm a senior in highschool now, so my time is almost up, but I have a younger brother with four more years of school. These last years of his childhood do not need to be stolen like they were from me. There are thousands of other students in the district who still have to go to school for many years too. I just wish the school board would realize this, and give us back our childhood.
