Congratulations to Greg Taylor who has stormed ahead of pro-synthetic field opponent in Comenarra Ward to easily win a seat on the new council.
Other preferred candidates Simon Lennon in Gordon Ward, Alec Taylor in Roseville Ward and Christine Kay in St Ives Ward have also been elected in the new council which will meet on Tuesday 11th January to elect a new mayor.
Whilst this is good news for our campaign, we are still waiting on the promised Review of Environmental Factors (REF) associated with the Norman Griffiths Oval synthetic field project. With construction due to begin in February 2022, there isn’t much time remaining for independent review of the REF.
Your new council is:
- Jeff Pettett and Greg Taylor (Comenarra Ward)
- Simon Lennon and Barbara Ward (Gordon Ward)
- Sam Ngai and Alec Taylor (Roseville Ward)
- Christine Kay and Martin Smith (St Ives Ward)
- Cedric Spencer and Kim Wheatley (Wahroonga Ward)
Please contact your newly elected local councillors NOW to request that the new council conducts a thorough examination of natural turf alternatives for Norman Griffiths Oval AND ensures that a completed REF is available for review by the National Parks and Wildlife Service, as agreed by Councillors at the council meeting in October 2020.
