Last month, BOCA’s parent Kraft Heinz announced a new investment in animal-free cheese through its venture fund, Evolv Ventures. Now tell Evolv to be a true innovator by moo-ving BOCA away from cow’s milk!

Kraft Heinz’ venture fund, Evolv Ventures, recently closed a $3.5 million seed funding round for cheese maker New Culture, which says it’s “developing the technology to make [dairy] casein micelles without involving animals in the process.” The company uses fermentation and plant-derived ingredients to create cheeses that are just like those from cow’s milk--minus one major ingredient: cruelty.

With cow’s milk sales curdling, it’s not surprising that dairy giant Kraft is now scrambling to “ketchup” with more innovative competitors through this game-changing investment. But despite the fact that ditching dairy would ‘behoof’ cows as well as consumers looking for vegan products, Kraft’s BOCA brand is still clinging to cruel dairy in its All-American burger, as well as its bowls and skillet meals.

And the food giant missed a major opportunity for innovation when its investors rejected a shareholder proposal at its recent annual meeting that would have had its board report on its “long-term strategy toward protein diversification.”

Evolv says it’s working with “the most innovative and disruptive companies in the food industry” -- but what about its own backer, Kraft Heinz? TODAY: Send a quick tweet to Evolv Ventures telling it to push Kraft Heinz in a more compassionate, innovative direction by ditching dairy from BOCA!

Thank you for helping us make compassionate eating business as usual.
