BOCA’s parent Kraft Heinz’ stock has just hit a 52-week low, with no signs of turning around soon. And while competitors pave the way forward with plant-based innovation, BOCA’s still clinging to cruel cow’s milk. As Kraft Heinz’ shares plummet, Barron’s writes, “The worst may not be over,” while a Credit Suisse analyst wrote that an ongoing investigation of the company by the Securities and Exchange Commission may “continue to reveal breakdowns in the company’s internal controls and negatively impact the company’s forward outlook.”

Meanwhile, BOCA’s competitors are paving the way for the plant-powered revolution with innovative new burgers, like Lightlife’s “bleeding” vegan burger and MorningStar’s upcoming vegan “Cheezeburger.” With companies like MorningStar and Lightlife going completely vegan and opening up all their products to a wider (and rapidly growing!) market, once-household name BOCA is falling behind.
