I've been living here since 1999. Basically, grew up here. I'm in the midst of the process of buying a property here to stay with my pregnant wife. Menara Polo is a community friendly neighborhood.

However, the past few years, the Menara Polo Management Committee (MPMC) has been run by the same people (especially the people from a property management that owns a lot of units here) and maintenance of the property has been poor. Numerous complaints have been done, officially and unofficially. But the MPMC has not attend it. 

Last year, I decided to take action. I send out an online survey to evaluate the resident concern & satisfaction, set up a resident/tenant Whatsapp group, called for a Town Hall, and even held a campaign "1 Week of Orientation of the 12th AGM" for AGM.

Unfortunately, few days before the AGM, MPMC decided to let go the Facility Management and handled the AGM without a neutral party. No matter how much we raise our concerns, we were outnumbered and the favor went to them.

We've gone through COBKL on this issue and followed up, however we have not heard of any feedback since early May. We have not being update on any investigation being done.

Now, The MPMC have continue their ways. The latest is on the lift replacement fund (where the MPMC has failed to provide any reports or evidence by experts requested by the residents, but are FORCING residents to pay) and parking lot issue.

• Treasurer of MPMC has requested for fund collection of the new lifts (RM3000 per unit-NO MENTIONED IN THE AGM MINUTES)

• Email sent by ME regarding justification and evidence of asking price. These questions are also being asked by other residents via the MPMC Defects & Service Whatsapp group, where the MPMC has not yet provided until now.

15/06/2021 (Menara Polo Carpark Tender 2021 rev. 2)

• In point number 3, in order for the resident to comply with the lift replacement (without answering any of our questions or providing any evidence) they have stated that residents can't participate in carpark tender without paying the lift replacement. Residents that are currently renting the parking lots are worried that they will lose their parking lot.
• In the midst of a MCO, they decide to do a gathering for the balloting. (Point number 5)

The petition is raise to obtain collective input from public on this scenario.

1) lift project budget for Menara Polo has been approved during the AGM with concern from resident, on tendering process and breakdown cost element for modernization and full replacement which could not being answered from the MPMC. However, MPMC choose to ignore and proceed the lift project with the basis of the AGM result. For clarity, the AGM result calculation are solely control by the MPMC in Menara Polo.

2. to delay carparking ballot till it's safe for gathering

This isn't the Menara Polo I grew up in and it's definitely not the one I want for my child to grow up in. Most residents here are scared pensioners and over the past few days, numerous residents have come and complained to us regarding the situation.

This is quite a common problem in Malaysian Condominiums (post JMB) when no professional body are taking charge. If we don't fight against this, this practice will continue everywhere.

Please my fellow Malaysians, help me and the people of Menara Polo to bring up this issue so the authorities can intervene.
