We are the residents of a Prestigious Apartment Community called Hills and Dales in Undri, Pune. This Project has been done by Kolte Patil Developers(KPD) of Pune.koltepatil.com. 

We have an empty plot in our premises which belongs to KPD.  Today we heard a plan by Engineers to cut fully grown (at least 15 - 20 years old)  8 neem trees in the plot. The plan is to cut the trees to make way for the new buliding.

Engineer says that they have permission from relevant authorities to cut the trees. And they will plant new saplings in lieu of these trees. 

These are not just trees, its a complete eco system in itself. They are homes to  many birds, they are oxygen power house for us. We all know the importance of Neem trees in our lives.

As such cities are turning into concrete jungles and if we do not save remaining of our trees, what kind of life we are going to give to our next generation.  

Even if  new saplings are planted, it will take at least 10 years for them to grow to the level of these trees. 

We want to request Kolte Patil Developers to transplant these trees to another place within our premises. Its a modern method and not really difficult for builder to consult horticulturists and do it. 

Let us all unite and ask Kolte Patil Developers to not cut the tress and Transplant them within our premises. 

We tried talking to the engineers but they brused aside our concerns saying survival rate of transplanted trees is not good. But even if we can save a few trees, its worth the effort.
