Protect free speech by counter boycotting businesses targeted by cancel culture

The Issue

One of the things that makes the United States great is that we have a right to free speech.  However we live among people who want to take away that right from those who they disagree with.  Those are the people who post petitions asking us to add our name to their effort to silence those who they disagree with.  They do this through what we now call “Cancel Culture”.  Cancel Culture among other things, involves boycotting businesses led by individuals who have exercised their right to free speech.

To be specific, Mike Lindell also known as the my pillow guy, has expressed his support of many of Donald Trump’s America First policies.  Because of his support, he is being boycotted through petitions requesting that businesses not sell his products.  Amazon, Walmart, Costco, Kohl’s, Bed, Bath and Beyond and others are being targeted.

Some of us did not agree with Donald Trump’s policies. Those who didn’t made their voices heard on election day which led to his removal from office and in doing so we have already heard and rejected Mike Lindell’s support.  It is now moot to attempt to silence him or others who we disagree with.  If we do it to them, they can do it to us.  One thing we can all agree on is that we enjoy the freedom of being able to speak freely and we do not want the government or anyone silencing us by hurting our businesses nor do we want to be denied the ability of buying products and services we want from who we want to buy them from.

By signing this petition, you agree to refuse to do business with any company who refuses to do business with anyone who is the subject of a free speech boycott.  For example, Kohl’s and Bed Bath & Beyond (BB&B) have stopped selling mypillow products.  BB&B has an excuse to make it appear they are discontinuing selling mypillow products for reasons other than the boycott but their timing suggests otherwise.  By signing, you agree not to spend any money for the rest of 2021 at Kohl’s, BB&B and any other business who succumb to the pressures of cancel culture.

While I am not asking for you to go beyond not patronizing those businesses, it may also be a good idea to make an effort to buy the products and services of those who are the targets of cancel culture either directly from them or from competitors of businesses who have succumbed to cancel culture.  By doing this, we are putting businesses in the middle between those who champion free speech and those who wish to infringe on our free speech rights. Businesses should not get involved in controlling speech.  Let’s make business easier and see to it that they do not get involved by withholding our money which we will show to be even more valuable than those who want the boycotts!

Please share this petition and ask everyone who cherishes free speech to sign it.  If you provide a reason for signing, you are also welcome to include the names of businesses you are counter boycotting and the name of the competitors who you will be giving your business to instead and/or provide links to any press releases from businesses who cooperate with free speech boycotts.
