Hi guys. I've seen a bit of disturbance about the hacker activity recently, and thought I'd take my time to address it. First things first: I'm the web developer at kogama. I'm responsible for anything that goes one after you type in "www.kogama.com" and before the game starts, basically. That includes most account and security related issues, even though cheating happens inside the game.
Secondary: While I am in charge of the website, I am not in charge of the business or company as a whole, and while I can say what I would like to do and in which order, I cannot promise that what I want is what's gonna end up being the most important thing and ultimately what we do. (And I'm not going to discuss business issues at any point)
First of, a petition showed up in the chat. And while that in itself is no big deal, the claims in the petition are being repeated quite often:
1) Kogama... has become arguably one of the best online games for kids - True
2) The developers at KoGaMa have done NOTHING to stop (the hackers and NSFW content) - False
3) And the situation continues to get worse... - False
4) KoGaMa is on its last legs right now - False
Kogama is doing as it always has. We see no fewer, and no more, hackers than we usually see, with a very minor exception for the moment. What we do see, is the effect of the Corona virus, which has limited our work hours. We're currently just not there to clean up the messes, and take action the way we normally do. As soon as we're back in full force, things should start to return to normal. We see nothing right now, that wouldn't be considered completely normal.
