#kodi's law
The issue
An event that took place early December, between a German Shepherd, and two young boys, who had to climb 2 fences to get into the area Kodi was...this property was owned by Vikki Phillips the owner of Kodi, as a result one of the boys being airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.
Kodi the German Shepherd, who was secured in his own backyard, suffered seven stab wounds, which resulted in huge vet bills, and also suffers from emotional trauma, and has subsequently been classed by local authorities as a dangerous dog.
before this event happened Kodi was free to roam on his owners property but now has to be locked in a very small enclosed area which is a council requirement due to his Dangerous dog classification...Vikki has to put him in this "cage" then lock it, for up to 8 hours a day while she is at work. This lead to Kodi suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and his health suffered...
After advice from the vets and dog trainers it was decided to put Kodi to sleep. he closed his eyes in the arms of his owner Vikki Phillips on 8th June 2017.
now we need to change the laws so this never happens to our pets, so signing this petition you will help this cause.

Laws need to change here in Tasmania so all dog owners do not have to go through the same thing as Vikki Phillips and her family have. In Tasmania we will be seeking an amendment to protect all dogs and their owners on their own property in the future. When we have the wording checked we will continued to update.
we need this petition to show the government a change is needed
