Don't limit food trucks at small businesses

Don't limit food trucks at small businesses
The Issue
Knoxville City Council will hear a proposal regarding food trucks (mobile food units or MFUs) on March 1, 2016. The proposal as written limits the locations of the food trucks related to residential property. We feel that 100 feet is an arbitrary distance and is not appropriate in all cases. We are the owners of a small business in our neighborhood (Fountain City Casual Pint) and believe our neighbors and customers see the value in having different food offerings in Fountain City. In almost 2 years of business, there have been no complaints regarding our food truck placement. This shows that one rule does not fit all cases. Let your City Council representatives know that you support the availability of food trucks in Fountain City along with local small businesses like the Fountain City Casual Pint and local food trucks by signing this petition.
