Seeking a way to live - this young Knox cat sheltered in a chicken-coop for five months since a kitten, got very thin, and now needs a life home.  Thank you to those who have helped - with desexing and health-recovery.  If you can adopt and care for this scaredy-cat, please contact knoxadvocats@gmail.com

Save-a-Dog Scheme is under threat of losing its 'no-kill' Stonnington Shelter.  Councillors vote on Monday 26th May 2025.  Meeting starts at 7pm - residents can attend.  Livestream: https://webcast.stonnington.vic.gov.au/video.php    Contact councillors before they vote: https://www.stonnington.vic.gov.au/About/About-Council/Mayor-and-Councillors  Never forget the councillors who vote for the Lost Dogs Home, and the killing of more healthy animals.

Stonnington Council Agenda is using doublespeak, and falsifying euthanasia figures, to convince councillors to engage the Lost Dogs Home as its pound contract-killer.  Citing 'minimal kill' and 'welfare' for euthanasia.  Read the Agenda bias and misinformation, pages 21-49:  https://www.stonnington.vic.gov.au/About/About-Council/Council-meetings/Minutes-and-agendas

City of Melbourne figures show that the Lost Dogs Home euthanase between 30-36percent of its impounded cats yearly.  The Lost Dogs Home euthanased 12.3percent impounded Melbourne dogs in 2024.  Greater euthanasia means greater expense charges from the contractor.  As a 'Key Stakeholder' the Lost Dogs Home pushed for a Melbourne City cat curfew.  To enact curfew, Melbourne's Agenda told lies that Stonnington has a cat curfew; and councillors then lied that Merri-bek mandates 24-hr cat containment.  Placing a killing contractor, will the 'next step' then be a Stonnington cat-curfew?

Cat curfews rise never-ending, expensive euthanasia.  Many countries, USA, and across Europe have realised that Community Cat Programs are a solution to overpopulation - saving lives, saving costs, saving carers, saving residents' mental health.  Giving life to community animals, and lowering the cost-of-living to residents.  Australian Councils call felines 'wild', 'unsocialised' and 'behavioural' - for euthanasia.  Branding the young and homeless, as 'pests' to be killed - thus prevents being seen as potential 'pets'.

Please speak up for those who cannot speak.

Melbourne Lord Mayor's Charitable Foundation is an ongoing funder of the private Invasive Species Council which also kills dingoes, wedge-tailed eagles and native mammals with 1080 poison in excruciating pain.  Faulty data is fed to media - bringing more deaths.  Download - Issues to Consider About Cats and Urban Wildlife
