Zoe Mukendi started this petition to KISD STUDENTS & PARENTS

After digging deeper into why our beloved TCHS teacher was put on administrative leave for having a Black Lives Matter poster in his room, we’ve realized that our real fight is against the KISD board’s policies. They’ve deemed Black Lives Matter as a “personal opinion” and a “political/controversial topic” that shouldn’t be displayed in a teacher’s classroom. Since when was Black Lives Matter a political matter?? It’s never been about politics; it’s about empowering black people and recognizing that we have a voice that should be heard when it comes to our lives and the horrible injustices we’ve endured and continue to face today.

KISD STUDENTS AND KISD PARENTS!! Sign this petition and support the want and need for change in the board’s policies. Movements and matters regarding race and identity should never be deemed as “controversial” or “political”.

We need your help and CANNOT do this without you!! Comment with your KISD EMAIL (if you’re a student) or email zkmukendi01@kellerisd.com or jabolden01@kellerisd.com so the board can’t say that ‘random’ people are the ones signing this petition. SHARE WITH FELLOW KISD STUDENTS/PARENTS!!!

We’re DEMANDING change and have to continue to PUSH for it until it’s been done.
