Add More Plastic Bag Recycling Bins to Kirkwood, MO!
The Issue
We are Kirkwood Change. We are a group of teenagers that are focused on helping the environment in Kirkwood. We hope to someday expand, but for now we are staying local. This petition is for adding more plastic bag recycling bins in Kirkwood, MO. We care about this topic because we care about the current and future population in Kirkwood, and we don't want them to have to deal with the littering and pollution as much as we do. We've gotten to the point where it is time to focus more on this issue. In a few stores, they have stations where you can return your plastic bags to be recycled. If you can't get paper bags at the store, this is a great way to still help our environment. About 500 billion plastic bags are used worldwide, and there are 7.594 billion people on Earth. About 100 billion plastic bags are used in the United States, and there are 328.2 million people in the US. These numbers are insane, and we can only imagine what they look like in Missouri, St. Louis, and most specifically, Kirkwood. Most of these bags are thrown away in the trash or are carelessly thrown into the streets. Plastic bags are being produced at an insane pace by the second. Go visit, https://www.theworldcounts.com/challenges/planet-earth/waste/plastic-bags-used-per-year/story, where you can see how many plastic bags are being produced in the world right now. Once you see this number, you will be a changed person. You can make a change on this issue! Sign this petition to add more plastic bag recycling bins to Kirkwood, and help reduce how many plastic bags are being thrown away.
