SAVE THE SWANS- Stop The Eviction of Thames Boat Charters
Why this petition matters
Stop The Eviction of Thames Boat Charters.
Warwick Salzer opened his small company 2 years ago. The concept from the beginning was to provide affordable, and in some cases free access (for the disabled and other disadvantaged groups and keyworkers) to recreational activities on the Thames. The pedal boats, paddle boards and kayaks (all with a zero carbon footprint) available to rent, provide families and young people with the opportunity to enjoy this small stretch of river in a very healthy and fun way. Many of these activities are normally inaccessible to most people, unless they are members of boat or rowing clubs or possess their own kayak or paddle board.
Consequently, this business provides a very significant benefit to the local community and to visitors to Kingston-upon-Thames.
As an Ex- fireman and pro scuba dive Warwick has also contributed to safety on the river and for 20 years now has acted as the unofficial live saver on the river. Helping and saving countless people in danger on the river.
However, the Council is requiring that Warwick's boats are removed and that he stop his business at this site.
This petition is to implore the local council to change their decision and to allow this very popular and highly beneficial business to continue. The petition is made on behalf of Warwick Salzer by Anna Blunt a local resident. Please support our cause and share with as many people as possible. Supportive comments also welcome
