Kinetic by Windstream is the ONLY internet provider available to residents in the Carter County Kentucky rural area. There are no other options. The company also offers phone DSL phone service that many residents utilize which is also impacted.

Most residents rely on the internet for work, school, and other activities that are deemed necessary for use of internet for their livelihood.

Residents have issues with the internet going down constantly, have no internet at all, or receive speeds so slow they cannot even use the internet. The same goes with DSL phone. Residents either have no phone use (no dial tone) or the phone may work only some of the time.

These issues have been going on for years!

•Internet and phone go out constantly, technicians have no idea how to fix the issue

•Technician “no shows” – Customer will have an appointment for a technician to come to the home to “fix the issue”. No one shows up. This may happen 3 or 4 or more times.

•Internet goes out on and off all day, sometimes for hours sometimes all day or days.

•Technician admits they don’t know how to fix the issue and just leaves.

•Technician says they fixed the issue however, the issue was not fixed.

•Technician submits ticket stating job completed yet never resolved the issue and sometimes never showed up to the residence.

•Only receive “up to” 12 mbs of speed.

•The company makes residents feel like they don’t care because the residents have no other option for internet therefore, the company has the power to do what they want.

Rural Carter County Residents are in dire need of additional internet resources.
The residents have no power to bring other internet companies to the area and needs someone in power that CAN.
