As many of you already know we have many unhoused neighbors and the police are understaffed. We need to feel safe in our community. I was recently a victim of a violent attack in Whole Foods parking garage Tuesday at 9:30 am. I was hit in the face multiple times. My purse taken and keys ripped from my hands. I tried to stop the woman from stealing my car n she began punching me in the bank of my head with my keys. She then drove off in my car. I was shocked to learn that there had been quite a bit of criminal/ suspicious activity in that building yet I see no security measures being taken. I thought FOR SURE they at least had cameras in the garage so maybe the attacker could be ID’d but there’s not even surveillance. I definitely think that we as a community need to let large profitable companies know that they need to do more to protect their customers and clients. It is negligent to not have security measures being taken. If you agree please sign this petition and let Whole Foods and Kimco the property management company know that you don’t want to support businesses that don’t protect their customers.
