We are calling for the removal of the petition against Wings Over The Rainbow by Kim Bateman. The photo in the petition is a photo of Casey the Mulluccan Cockatoo when he first arrived at WOTR. This was a case of extreme abuse on the part of the owner. It was so bad in fact, that we demanded the owner sign the bird over immediately otherwise we were going to turn him in for animal cruelty. The photo is being used in a manner to defame and slander WOTR and was used WITHOUT the permission of the owner of the photo. The photo was taken so we at WOTR could document what had happened to this poor creature. He had burns on his legs and was so weak he could barely perch. We were the ones who showed him love in his final days. We were the ones who tried so hard to save him. Now rather than letting him rest in peace, Kim has decided to use this poor soul to attack us. We are calling for the removal of this petition and an apology from Kim Bateman, the creator of the petition for using a photo of a bird we all wept over in a manner as to defame us. We are also demanding that all signers of the petition be told the REAL story behind the photo and that Kim also apologize to them for lying to them.
