Kilmore Golf Club have a permit obtained from DELPW to cull 50 short billed and 50 long billed Corellas. Other options have not been exhausted.

This is not uncommon ... businesses and councils get these permits in other States also. Not to protect a species, not to protect livestock or crops..,to avoid the temporary problems of visiting seaonal flocks.. despite other clubs successfully using other recommended methods successfully the club again sought and obtained a permit to cull.

Culling occurred last year at at the golf course and the birds will return next summer. So the number to be culled does not reflect the true number of injured and killed birds.

Please sign and save these  annual, visiting birds from dying needlessly and wounded birds from suffering and others missing their mates putting further stress on these beautiful Australian iconic birds that are subject to the threat of culling anywhere they may travel around our State.
