OCTOBER IS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH

Prior to Courtney Herron’s Murder

• Henry Hammond had a long history of Domestic Violence offences including but not limited to the strangulation, & brutal beating of his ex-partner. He was found guilty and subsequently incarcerated.
• Violent Offenders who engage in recividism pose a significant risk to the community, & are a dangerous threat to public safety.
  The Victorian Government has a duty of care to ensure that all women feel safe, & more importantly remain protected from violent killers such as Henry Hammond.
• On August 17th, 2020, Justice Phillip Priest determined Henry Hammond as being “deemed too high a risk to the public”

In the interests of public safety & to ensure the community continues to remain protected.

Henry Hammond if released, would place the general public at significant risk & further threat of serious harm.
