Killeen for Kids

The Issue

Killeen deserves safer sidewalks, reliable public transit, and more kid-friendly public spaces. We NEED city leaders to prioritize building more sidewalks, adding bus stops, and creating places where kids and families can safely gather. Sign this petition to show your support for a safer, stronger, more connected Killeen.

Right now, many areas in Killeen lack sidewalks and safe walkways. Kids walking to school are forced to walk along grass or the edge of busy streets, putting them at risk of accidents. Teens without cars have few transportation options because of limited bus stops, making it harder to get to school, jobs, or community programs. Parents with strollers, people with disabilities, and anyone without a car are also affected. Our community deserves better.

If nothing changes, kids will continue to walk in unsafe conditions, accidents will remain a risk, and families will have limited access to transportation and safe spaces to gather. But if we act now, we can create a city where sidewalks keep kids safe, bus stops make public transit more accessible, and parks and community areas give families a place to connect. These spaces can also give teens something positive to do, helping keep them out of trouble and engaged in healthy activities. This isn’t just about convenience, it’s about safety, health, and quality of life.

Killeen is growing, and with growth comes responsibility. The longer we wait, the harder and more expensive these improvements will be. Investing in sidewalks, bus stops, and family spaces now means building a stronger, safer future for the children, teens, and families who call Killeen home.
