This week, Winnipeg police unveiled details of a horrific animal cruelty case where 75 animals were tortured and killed.
Animal welfare advocates are calling for new regulations to be in place for people giving pets away online. Watch the news report here.
I did a quick search on Kijiji and found ads offering dogs for free, despite the platform's policy stating that dogs and puppies cannot be listed as free.
Kijiji does not have a similar policy for cats and kittens, allowing people to give them away for free on the platform.
Posting policies put in place by Kijiji are good steps toward protecting animal welfare, upholding Canadian laws and keeping our communities safe. But such a policy is no good if Kijiji does not enforce their posting policies.
