I have asked Kijiji to monitor their ads but I need your help to convince them too! 

Ten years ago, we denounced the existence of several ads that violated Kijiji posting policies, such as ads promoting the sale of puppies and kittens under 8 weeks old, illegally selling purebred dogs without registration papers, and posting dogs for sale under “Accessories” to avoid paying the listing fee. Sadly, these same violations persist today! Kijiji does not even preemptively verify the validity of government licence numbers of dog breeders from New Brunswick.

Posting policies put in place by Kijiji are good steps toward protecting animal welfare, upholding Canadian laws and keeping our communities safe. The responsible thing to do now is for Kijiji to enforce their posting policies. Puppy mills and unethical breeders may continue to exist even if Kijiji Canada reviews pets ads BEFORE they go live, but at least it would prevent some animals from suffering while reducing the number of individuals and families needlessly scammed.
